Our Story

Ian, myself and the 5 children used to live across the canal from Nepean Specialist Theraputic and Exercise Rehabilitation Clinic (nicknamed NSPERC) in Jamisontown.

Ian, being a runner, would often run past this facility. It amazed him that someone had purposed built a facility, set it out and equipped it with everything needed for rehabilitation and recovery, in his eyes it was the perfect set-up. It was a deep desire of Ian’s to do like wise. As fate would have it Dr Don Stewart who owned the centre heard about Ian and his natural talent not only as a physio but in sport and like him a person full of passion and dreams for excellence. (Dons’ other passion was caring for people, he had a genuine compassion for people suffering from injury or with disease) Ian and Don sat down for a chat and within minutes of Don meeting Ian he asked Ian to merge their practices into one.

Years have passed and life with its opportunities and tragedy’s sees Ian now full time with the Western Sydney Wanderers FC and Dr Don Stewart sadly, has passed away but I am happy to say that Don’s passion for NSPERC lives on. I am so excited to see Don’s dream for a exercise based rehabilitation center rebirthed and to have the pool named in his honour is very special.
